The defense followed a compilation video published by a rival channel that assembled the statements he was disputing.
Anthony R. D’Amato, Jr., also known as ZeroDarkTony, devoted a significant portion of a July 22, 2026 YouTube livestream to defending earlier statements he had made on stream. He argued that none of those statements constituted a legal threat. The stream also included a vague insinuation about a named individual allegedly conversing with someone described as young. The earlier statements D’Amato was responding to appear to be drawn from a compilation video published by Scott Hochstetter on his YouTube channel The Lord of the Gadflies, viewable at youtube.com/watch?v=JNjqorZMklk. That compilation includes, among other statements attributed to D’Amato: “Don’t come to my fucking door… Because if you ever do, I will pull that blonde hair into a fucking door and I will smash the fucking door on your fucking head,” directed at LaraFM, as well as “I hope your mother gets raped and killed,” directed Hochstetter. D’Amato’s July 22 stream was, based on the transcript, a direct response to that video and the characterization of those remarks as threats.
“A Threat Is I’m Going to Do This to This Person That’s Here at This Place”
On stream, D’Amato offered his own definition of what constitutes a threat and argued his previous statements did not satisfy it. He claimed he had caught himself before completing whatever he was about to say. Later in the same broadcast, he made a comment about a named individual, Boss, allegedly having conversed with family members he described as “a bit young,” while stating he himself was not going to say anything further about it.
