Anthony R. D’Amato, Jr., also known as ZeroDarkTony, used a June 2, 2024 YouTube livestream to call U.S. Department of Homeland Security and report a critic he identifies as Danny on immigration-related grounds. D’Amato then shared what he described as Danny’s legal name and a DHS tip-line number in the chat, inviting viewers to file their own reports. The same stream included D’Amato’s account of a prior CPS call targeting a minor he identified as Solomon, and a statement directed at a chatter that his investigators could locate her physical address. The stream is titled “Danny Immigration Call LIVE: DOA and LaraFM.” The targets appear to be individuals involved in ongoing online disputes with D’Amato. Solomon is described in the transcript as a minor.
“We’re going to be taking care of some family business today,
which means calling family protective services and immigration”
D’Amato opened the stream by announcing that the day’s agenda was “calling family protective services and immigration.” He told viewers that a CPS report on Solomon was already open and invited anyone who wanted to “call and add to it or make some suggestions” to do so, framing it as a matter of personal choice in a free country. That framing is worth noting: the target is, by D’Amato’s own description, a teenager who had previously required police involvement after being groomed online. Mobilizing a streaming audience to pile onto a child welfare report against a minor in those circumstances is the kind of conduct that precedes, and in some jurisdictions constitutes, a basis for criminal harassment or stalking charges. The immigration campaign against Danny carried its own risks. D’Amato acknowledged on stream that he was not certain of the underlying facts, stating repeatedly that he told DHS officials “I’m not sure” about the marriage and visa details he was reporting. He nonetheless shared a name, a DHS web form, and a phone number in the chat, and told viewers, “I know that some of you are going to do that.” In the current federal enforcement climate, an immigration report, accurate or not, can produce consequences ranging from detention to removal, and worse. D’Amato, broadcasting from Los Angeles, directed his audience toward those consequences against a named individual while on camera. Toward the end of the stream, D’Amato turned on a chatter using the handle “anarchy princess,” telling her that her screen name gave him grounds to have investigators “find you… like your address where you are,” which he described as the place where he could “serve you papers and make police reports about you.” In a city where police responses to reported disturbances have ended in injury and death, broadcasting that you are attempting to locate someone’s home address to send authorities there is not an abstract threat.
